JUNE MEETING – FIRST EVER UBER PUG!

May 24, 2010

In celebration of your Pictage User Group, we’re throwing our first ever Uber PUG here in NY.

What is an Uber PUG? It’s a PUG on a larger scale, an evening event focused on inspiring and educating professional photographers. It’s an evening that celebrates the community you’ve created. All are welcome and encouraged to join. In fact, this is a perfect event to invite all your photographer friends, Pictage members or not.

Joe Buissink is the best when it comes to encouraging and inspiring photographers and for that reason we thought he’d be the perfect presenter for the UberPUG.  As an added bonus, Jim Collins, Pictage CEO will be hosting and also presenting at the event!

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010
6pm
New York Marriott Marquis
1535 Broadway
New York, NY.  10036

If you have questions about the Uber PUG in New York feel free to email us at pugs@pictage.com. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Please make sure to RSVP here for this event.  A cash bar will be provided during the mixer.

MAY MEETING INFO

April 27, 2010

I’m very pleased to announce that our April meeting will be held at Calumet on Thursday, May 27 at 6:00 PM!

At this meeting we will focus on a very important topic – NETWORKING.  Some of us are doing it, some not – but it’s likely we could all be doing it better than we are.  We will be joined by a wonderful coach and speaker, Larry Sharpe, from Neo-Sage.  Larry will teach us how to:

•Network efficiently and start valuable, long lasting, prosperous relationships

•See exactly how to select the events that make the most sense for you

•Start conversations and leave conversations, Get people to WANT to hear about your services and value

•Get your message across WITHOUT soliciting

•Follow up and be memorable for when they (or their network) need you

There will be role play so you can see the techniques in action, as well as time for individual questions.

Larry teaches networking at Columbia’s Graduate School of Business and has been a Director of Business Networking International for over 5 years.  He’s a Board Member of the Association for Corporate Growth (New York) and chairs the Public Relations Committee.  He is the Director of Special Projects for the World Energy Forum.  He is also a Guest Instructor the New York Fashion Institute of Technology, as well as the host of The Ivory Tower Internet Radio Program.  You can learn more about Larry and Neo-Sage by visiting his website is http://www.neo-sage.com.

APRIL MEETING INFO

April 1, 2010

I’m very pleased to announce that our April meeting will be held at Calumet on Wednesday April 14 at 6:00 PM!

We will not be having a featured speaker at this meeting because I feel it’s important that we mix it up from month to month, and discussing relevant topics within our group is equally as important as having a speaker…

So our agenda this meeting will include:

1- What are some of the frustrations we feel as professional photographers in 2010?  I want us all to think about what frustrates and bothers us the most about our industry and even our individual businesses.  Chances are we have certain issues in common, and perhaps we can help one another with them.  So think about this… and bring a few of them to the meeting.  I will open the floor up to everyone so we can have a good roundtable discussion…

2- The new Pictage portal will be discussed, and I’ll bring my laptop so that we can look at some of the new features together via the projector.

3- The iPad; what it means to us as photographers as well as consumers.  PLEASE BRING YOURS IF YOU GET ONE!!!!

We will have PIZZA at this meeting!!!!!!
